This is an event for people who have been consistently participating in seminars. Event attendees will get to undergo a similar process to a professional debate setting in which we will follow the British Parliamentary Debate format. This event will have 1-2 debates, with four teams of two competitors competing against each other. Topics will include mindful yet burning global and local political and economic topics.
This is a safe environment where all are welcome and bullying/negative attitudes will not be tolerated.
The University of Guelph Debate Club acknowledges that much of our work takes place within the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3); the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. It is recognized that the Anishinnabe and Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples have unique, long-standing and on-going relationships with the land and each other and that the Attawandaron people are part of the archaeological record.
