This is an event for people who have been consistently participating in seminars and tournaments (it is not necessary to have attended tournaments, but it is beneficial). Event attendees will get to undergo a similar process to a professional debate setting in which we will follow the British Parliamentary Debate format. This event will have 1-2 debates, with four teams of two competitors competing against each other. Topics will follow a script and the theme of a murder mystery! Please RSVP and let us know if you would like to attend our debate event as a spectator or as a competitor.
The University of Guelph Debate Club acknowledges that much of our work takes place within the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3); the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. It is recognized that the Anishinnabe and Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples have unique, long-standing and on-going relationships with the land and each other and that the Attawandaron people are part of the archaeological record.
