The U of G Debate Club is committed to creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for all events regardless of if they are casual or competitive. On this page, you will find our policies regarding equity and how we will be handling it as a club. You will also be able to find the form for submitting equity issues which will be reviewed by our equity officers and club presidents if necessary.
Our Equity slides for each event can be found here:

Thank you to the CUSID High School Tournament Staff Team for this resource!
Our Discord server includes a #support channel where we encourage members to go if they would like to report an equity violation that occurred during any U of G Debate Club events including socials, seminars, and competitions. We use a ticketing system to open private chats between the individual, our Equity Officers, and the President of the Club.
If you are not comfortable opening a ticket, please reach out to either of our Equity Officers directly. Their Discords can be found in the #executive-team chat.
The University of Guelph Debate Club acknowledges that much of our work takes place within the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3); the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. It is recognized that the Anishinnabe and Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples have unique, long-standing and on-going relationships with the land and each other and that the Attawandaron people are part of the archaeological record.
