In this seminar, we will explore history topics such as “Why history plays a great role in our present society.” This seminar will show how history teaches us that problems we are facing today have been persisting for years and yet we keep turning a blind eye. We will be joined by special guest Deirdre Mccorkindale (more information about her can be found on our Guest Speakers tab).
This is a fun time to meet new people and express your thoughts in a new way! We also emphasize that this is a safe environment where all are welcome and bullying/negative attitudes will not be tolerated.
The University of Guelph Debate Club acknowledges that much of our work takes place within the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3); the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. It is recognized that the Anishinnabe and Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples have unique, long-standing and on-going relationships with the land and each other and that the Attawandaron people are part of the archaeological record.
