In the first hour of this seminar, we will have special guest Don Dedrick explaining how an argument is made and the logic behind a strong argument. In the second hour, we will be further redefining these notions in a debate sense. We will also be going into further detail about politics and how the economy is influenced by the enacted policies.
This is a fun time to meet new people and express your thoughts in a new way! We also emphasize that this is a safe environment where all are welcome and bullying/negative attitudes will not be tolerated.
The University of Guelph Debate Club acknowledges that much of our work takes place within the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3); the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. It is recognized that the Anishinnabe and Hodinöhsö:ni’ peoples have unique, long-standing and on-going relationships with the land and each other and that the Attawandaron people are part of the archaeological record.
